Art is taught by Prep School teachers in Key Stage 1 and Senior School subject specialists across Key Stage 2. Students are introduced to a range of styles, artists, media and techniques. They are taught to be inquisitive about the concepts within the artworks they study and also how to develop techniques with handling a range of tools and materials.
All HGS Prep children have a weekly Music curriculum lesson, with EYFS and KS1 children having an extra singing session with our Head of Prep Music. Our Music curriculum is creative and inclusive, allowing learners to develop their musical knowledge through performing, composing and listening in their weekly lessons in one of our dedicated music rooms.
Singing is a focal part of the curriculum which is accessible to all students and our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 choirs give further learning opportunities to our children. To further enhance our musical provision, there are many opportunities for performance in our informal concerts, festivals and productions.
