Forest School

Although Forest School is not part of the National Curriculum, here at Hulme Grammar School we recognise the wide array of benefits it has to offer our children. We have created a bespoke curriculum where the children can access learning through a hands-on approach. 

Forest School delivers a holistic education whilst offering children a safe place to take risks, explore, experiment, build resilience and develop empathy skills and social skills.

Our Forest School sessions regularly link to other areas of the school curriculum, for example, Science, PSHE and Maths, embedding new knowledge and skills practically. 

Pupils Voice is extremely important to us and the sessions are child-focused and child-led. We encourage our pupils to be independent and seek answers through experimenting whilst our Forest Leader and support staff are on hand to support them within a safe and natural environment.
