Acacia

The Rotary Club of Oldham held their annual Students Awards ceremony in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre in Oldham this week (8 May).

We are delighted to announce that Hulme Sixth Form student Acacia was awarded the 2024 Student of the Year award by the Rotary Club of Oldham. The Student of the Year Award seeks to recognise those who are making, or have made an outstanding contribution to their school, community or family whilst maintaining high standards in their personal lives.

Mrs Berry, Head of Sixth Form said: “We are so proud of Acacia. The Student of the Year award is a testament to her exceptional character and unwavering dedication to all that she does. She has proven that it is possible to excel academically while making a lasting impact on the school community and maintaining high standards in her personal life. Her resilience, determination and passion will undoubtedly inspire and motivate students for years to come at Hulme. Well done Acacia!”

Between balancing A-Levels and various co-curricular activities Acacia has had an outstanding impact on her community. As we celebrate Acacia’s success and recognise her as the Oldham Rotary Club Student of the Year, we are reminded of the power of passion, hard work, and community involvement.

The awards ceremony was attended by students from various other schools across Oldham, including Blue Coat, Brian Clarke Academy, Oldham Sixth Form College and more!

The ceremony and award was presented by President of the Rotary Club of Oldham, Bernard Stones, Rotarian Colin Platt and the Deputy Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Eddie Moores.
