Hulme Grammar was delighted to welcome guests from the Oldham Interfaith Group for an insightful session on Ramadan, delivered to our Year 5 and 6 pupils. A key part of life at Hulme is the incredible diversity within our school community, and this session was one of several throughout the year that help pupils learn more about the different faiths and traditions represented within our school family.

The talk was led by Imam Molana Akmal, who shared the significance of fasting, family, giving, and prayer during the holy month of Ramadan. Pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of this important time for Muslim communities around the world.

With Eid al-Fitr just around the corner, many of our pupils and their families will be looking forward to the celebrations at the start of next week. We are incredibly grateful to Molana Akmal and Samia for giving their time so generously and helping our pupils develop a greater appreciation of faith, culture, and community.

At Hulme, we are committed to fostering an environment of understanding and respect, and sessions like this play a vital role in enriching our pupils’ learning beyond the classroom.
