Hulme Grammar School is thrilled to acknowledge the generous donation of 50 high-specification computer monitors, facilitated by alumnus James Waterfall (Class of 1997), who currently works as EUC Service Delivery Director at American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT).

The monitors, donated by Amex GBT following an upgrade to their own IT infrastructure, were in excellent condition and of such high quality that they were immediately put to use across the school. This gift in kind has significantly enhanced the school’s IT provision, benefiting pupils and staff alike.

The new screens have been installed in classrooms, school support services and staff areas, improving digital learning resources for students and modernising staff workspaces. In a time of stretched school budgets, gifts like this offer a real boost to facilities while helping to reduce expenditure.

James Waterfall, who fondly recalls his time at Hulme, saw the opportunity to give back to the school community and acted swiftly to facilitate the donation.

I’m really proud to be able to support Hulme in this way,” said James. “When I realised the monitors from our IT refresh at Amex GBT were still in great condition, it made perfect sense to offer them to my old school. I know they’ll be put to excellent use.

Marc Hornby, Director of Development at Hulme Grammar School, said:
This is a brilliant example of the power of alumni giving. We’re so grateful to James and to American Express Global Business Travel for their generosity. Donations like these go a long way in improving the everyday learning environment and allow us to direct funding to other essential areas.”

This donation is part of a growing culture of alumni support at Hulme, where gifts of time, money, equipment and professional networks are helping the school do transformational things for its pupils and wider community.
