A Day in the Life at Hulme Grammar Senior School
January 13, 2025

The highest priority at the HGS Senior School is to provide a superior inclusive learning environment where each student is nurtured and can reach his or her full potential. We celebrate our rich history while also looking ahead, preparing our students to excel in a world that is rapidly and continually changing. Our staff is made up of committed, passionate, dedicated, well qualified professionals who work closely with students, working to achieve the highest levels of academic success while also helping to develop character. We balance rigorous academics with interesting, fun co-curricular opportunities, and encourage our students to be involved, building long-lasting friendships and growing into successful adults. We also have excellent pastoral care, with the students supported by a dedicated team of experts, including Senior Pastoral Leads, Heads of Year, Form Tutors, a Medical and Mental Health Lead, and professional Counsellors. This ensures that someone is always available to offer advice, provide guidance, and help students feel happy, safe, supported, and valued at school. Here, we take a look at what is involved in a day in the life of a student at Hulme Senior School.
Hulme Grammar Daily Schedule
Senior students at Hulme Grammar begin their days as you would expect in a big hearted, friendly school, with cheerful greetings flowing between students and staff. Then it is off to class, where the governing principle is “Challenge for All.” What does that mean? It is a philosophy embraced by HGS, that each student deserves to be challenged, supported, and inspired, so that they may reach their full potential. The curriculum is broad, balanced and packed with knowledge, delivered by experts passionate on the subjects they teach. HGS is a safe space, where failure is looked upon as a stepping stone to success and taking risks is rewarded. It is also a cooperative environment, where students have the opportunity to collaborate and learn with and from each other.
